Neymar ditched Lionel Messi and Barcelona as new side have better chance of winning Champions League

NEYMAR insists he swapped Barcelona for Paris to grab Champions League glory.

Paris Saint-Germain smashed the world transfer record when they captured the Brazil star from the Nou Camp for £198million last month.

An eye-watering £500,000-a-week is also being paid into his bank account.

But the man who won eight major trophies in four seasons alongside Lionel Messi in Spain says his new club has more chance of winning the Champions League than his last.

His makes a European debut for his new club against Celtic at Parkhead tomorrow.

Neymar Jr, said: “One of my biggest reasons for joining PSG was to help the club write history.  The Champions League is not the only trophy we want to win — but it is a very important trophy.

“The aim this season is to try and win it — that is the level the club are now at. I do believe we are capable of winning the tournament.

“Not only do we have the quality but we have the experience — the players who know what it takes to win the Champions League.
