Messi’s income stream is also boosted by lucrative sponsorship contract.
The 30-year-old is a long-term Adidas ambassador. Controversially, Barcelona’s shirts are made by Nike.
He has also previously promoted Pepsi, Gillette and Turkish Airlines.
Ronaldo rakes in an estimated £360,000-per-week at Real.
That returns around £18.7m every year before tax.
Ronaldo’s tax affairs were scrutinised earlier this year.
At the height of the saga, his representatives published documents that showed earnings in Spain of around £20m per year.
Ronaldo has a highly profitable and secretive contract with Nike.
It’s thought the 32-year-old has life-time agreement with the sportswear giants.
Ronaldo also has smaller deals with Armani, Tag Heuer, PokerStars and Castrol.
